Artist Statement
In my view, Vincent van Gogh was not a distant myth or legend, but a human being like millions of others on this earth, someone who, during his lifetime, never reached his true place in history. He was a man with weaknesses and limitations, yet filled with extraordinary talent, passion, and love for life.
My artworks attempt to reimagine a world where Van Gogh is not confined within museum frames but continues to live in our daily experiences, within our dreams, memories, and shared emotions.
Through the series “A Fantastical Look at the World of Vincent van Gogh”, I strive to portray him in a more human and intimate way, using vivid colors, soft lines, and poetic storytelling. Instead of tragedy, I seek to highlight love, hope, and companionship.
For me, Van Gogh represents a universal figure in whom anyone, regardless of age or culture, can see a reflection of themselves. My works are an invitation to a shared experience: to rediscover Van Gogh not as a myth, but as a real human being who still speaks to us about the struggles and the beauty of life.
